Psoas Release Practice

This session is a recording from Thursday 7th May 2020
Description
Our focus is on the Psoas Muscles (hip flexor). For many of us, especially as we age, this muscle can become chronically tight. It is the deepest core muscles and the only one that connects the torso with the legs.
When our postural muscles are inefficient the Psoas takes over and then pulls the spine and pelvis into misalignment and is often tighter on one side. It can also compress our internal organs and push the belly forward and affect our digestive system. For some, it is a source of held trauma.
We need to strengthen the deep postural muscles of the pelvic floor, abdomen and spine in order to release the Psoas. In this session, we will consider postures that help to lengthen and release the psoas and strengthen the muscles needed in order to support its release. I hope that the session will give you lots of awareness about posture and leave you with an overall feeling of relaxation and wellbeing.
